Why not take the money it would cost to get those wheels and get an Si. Surely if you can afford those wheels you ca afford the Si.

lol...cuz the si is everyones holy grail right? jesus. a r18 doesnt require premium.....the ex has lower insurance rates....like seriously im tired of people telling others that have dx-ex and modding them to "just get an si"...maybe i should just stay off the internet hahaha

 

So it is your opinon that buyers get the R18 equipped model to save money, for whatever reason? If so, why mod the car if you are trying to save cash. I wasn't trying to turn this into an Si vs R18, but if you are going to swing from the nuts of the expensive JDM wheels......... It doesn't make much sense for someone to spend close to 20-25% of the vehicles value on wheels if the buyers is buying it to save money.

You are a window shopper anyway, come back when you get the car. This thread should be in appearance and cosmetic anyway.

There's other reasons to get an EX than the S. Maybe he wants leather? Maybe he wants an automatic tranny? Maybe it he just doesn't wanna pay the premium (gas and insurance) on a car that he doesn't intend to get the performance out of?

I agree, but he mentioned reasons for saving money. People who are looking to save money aren't eyeballing $2500+ wheels.

I checked the age he listed, I think he is leaning on family to help with the purchase. For example, my mom purchased (cash) my brother the vehicle of his choice for HS graduation, things that couldn't be on his list were Si, V6 anything, manual transmission. She did however say he could get and EM1 til she saw what the insurance was going to be, lol more than the car payment would have been. He ended up with a 2005 LX Special edition.

way to keep this forum full of useful info. photoshop the damn image or keep your mouth shut . everyone has reasons for getting the car they get...dont criticize their decisions or their spending habits afterwards.

to OP...it will look good no matter what. i guarantee that most people will droll over those rims on any fg/fa. i will try to get a basic ps up tmw.

 

he never said anything about actually buying the wheels, he just wants to see what they look like.

Well if you want to get technical, as I stated before, this should be in the appearence and cosmetic forum. This is a technical forum, not a picture request forum. Why don't you help the OP keep this forum full of useful info instead of clogging it up with threads like this. How is that captain cool guy?

I bet you I pay less for full coverage insurance on my Si than 99.9% of people do for an EX.

On one hand you're right. The "just get an si" thing gets old sometimes. But, on the other hand, at least in my state, you're very wrong. The Si (in New Jersey probably worst state for insurance in the nation), has no higher insurance rates than any other civic.
