Question about the RSX-S ?
hi my name is Toni. just actually came from Greece a couple of weeks ago after my soccer Carrier took a bad turn so i ended up back in the U. S. =[ not that is a bad thing but soccer wise you know...anyways I'm looking to get a Type S.
Its going to be my first real nice car, and i want something that can have some ***** but also be economic and sporty. the type s really has impressed me and test driving it made me want to get one even more. my question though is this..I have an option of the
- Rsx-S
- 07 Accord
- 07 civic Si
i got over 10 but under 20 CASH...
just wanted to know what you guys think, and any suggestions.
thanks

The Type S is gonna be a really good investment in my oppinion 200hp inline 4 DOHC I-vtec just all around clean honda performance. looks like u can already just pick one up w/o having to deal w/ downpaying on one and still have extra cash to modify it. I own an 04 type S n i love my frickin car but Ive abused it one too many times n its expensive. so now ima go for looks. So good luck man.
why 02-04 and not the 05 or 06 model..?
and also i'm 19 and have a Clean record. no tickets no nothin, besides a U turn ticket i got back when i was 16 and went to court for it and won it...how much will insurance be?

The Type S is definately the way to go if your looking for the economical fun way to go. There is a huge aftermarket following that is slowly but surely sweeping through the honda community and the potential from these cars is endless. They also get great gas mileage and hell it is a HOnda you could keep for 15 years if need be. I definately say go with the 02-04 Type S but I am biased in my opinion because that is what I own. Sounds like you may have found one if you test drove it, you may want ot make sure there are no grinds in the gears and if that is solid then go for it man. Good luck with the purchase.
Also insurance shouldn't be that bad if you have a clean record. It wouldn't be anymore than if you got one of the newer cars that you were considering!

The '05-'06 RSX Type-S gets my vote. It's a very smooth driving car, excellent shifting, great stereo, much better ratio (4.7 final drive), heated leather racing-like seats, and luxurious like the s2000. All of which make it a great daily driver. They are a bit quicker than the old ones and has a few OEM parts that can be made to resemble a DC5R in terms of performance.
The only thing that ticks me off about the Type-S is the suspension/handling and size of the car and that it wasn't equipped with an LSD. They're my only complaints I have about the car. Good luck with your decision! Choose wisely.

Sorry dude, but take it from someone who has had BOTH.
The new Si is an amazing car. Blast to drive, and VERY capable of getting 32+mpg highway.
The RSX is nice, but nowhere near as fun to drive, and isn't being made anymore. So unless you get an 05 or 06 you arent going to get much of a warranty in most cases. Let alone find a 'new' one.
just my .02

I like both models of the RSX. I have an 03 but sometimes I wish I had and 05-06. Either way I am very happy with my car.......
