Hey yo!!!!!!I just recently bought a crx and ive been doing alot of research the past couple of days... at first i wanted to get a b16 but then i found other cheaper routes. Im just shooting for around 350whp and 11s but i cant decide which motor?
is my crx motor capable of 350whp fully built?
So basicly im looking for the cheapest route possible to hit 350whp

But yea ls turbo is good but i dont think its the cheapest route
remember im just shooting for 350whp ls engines cost like 1-2gs and i also need a b series tranny
with that money i can have a fully built sohc ready for turbo...
i was thinking about the dohc zc but limited aftermarket parts

You'll spend more getting the dirty-D built then you would doing a B-series swap.

I still say LS dude. They're cheap. like $500 from Hmotors. Less if you look around your area. LS will give you 300whp.

 

maybe, the sohc zc 1.6 liter. It's the japanese version of the d16a9 I think. My research says it has stock 127 horsepower. It's in my si and after some mods, I'm pushing about 180 horsepower, can you do better?

There is no such thing as a 'cheap 350WHP'. Any way you try to get this is going to cost quite a bit. ESPECIALLY if you want the motor to last more than a week.

Anyone who wants 2Gs for an LS swap is SERIOUSLY overcharging you. I see these motors EVERY DAY at the local Pick-And-Pulls. And you can get a COMPLETE motor for $200 - less on half off or quarter off days, obviously. And transmissions can be had for around $80. Yes, the motors might not always be in the best shape. But let's face it. You're going to be building anyway. So as long as there are no rods through the block, you should be okay.

Seriously now, the best engine for your honda is WHATEVER YOU CAN AFFORD TO BUY!

If you have $1000, DOHC ZC.
If you have $2000, get a 1st gen b16a. It'll cost that much to get it in.
If you have $4000, get a GSR/B18C1.
If you have $5500, get a ITR/B18C5.
If you have $10K, and no use for your car for a month or two... get a K20.

i dont know a whole lot about d series motor im a k series guy i have a fully built k20 hatch full race turbo tuned by me hitting high 10s.
but couple days ago i just bought a crx and wondering if the crx motor can do 350whp? cuz if the motor can do that much power i rather just fully built it and turbo and it will be cheaper then getting ls motor and......

yea those motors are alot better then a sohc... but u guys dont realize that it will cost more to get them engine then fully building instead of just fully building my engine save like 500 or more..

Ive only been doing research for the past 2 days and no not 48 hours more like 5 hours...

 

you are a complete moron if you can't take your "engine building/tuning" skills and use them on a d series motor. really what is so different? and why if your just going for 350hp, would you not just do a cheap vitara turbo build? could reach your goal and then some for less then 1500 including turbo kit.

yes, cause we still don't know what motor you are building. If its a HF or DX, or SI

for u guys who dont understand yea.. of course im not gonna spend cheap **** on the upgraded parts im just looking for the cheapest route.... either a 10g or 1000$ difference is alot to me.. im hoping i can reach my goal spending 7gs or under that includes, motor,trans,tires,etc...
oh yea and whats the difference between crome pro and s300 with vafc

There is no way in hell you are at 180 hp with a zc without MAJOR work.

You are full of **** too. You do not have a 10 second honda that YOU tuned if you are asking the questions you are asking.

Yes the "si motor" is capale of 350 hp on boost. With some work.
