im looking for some nice coilovers that will serve this purpose. ive heard of the new skunk2's that are supposed to be pretty nice and also the k-sports that seem to be pretty decent. i dont want to spend over 1000 for them new. thanks.

Hey now, I love my Tein Basics
But if you are planing on doing some serious auto-xing, I wouldn't recomend them. I will stick with Tein and say the Tein Super Sports are nice. Great adjustabilty, quality, and you get the dampening adjustment. They should be under 1000 too

then it would all depend, for all out then look no futher than the old combo of the Ground Control coilovers and Koni yellows (spring rates to suite your needs).
