Default Better mpg for 1990 crx si?

So I believe crx si 2nd gen are 29-33 mpg stock, this is pretty much what I've been getting out mine for the past month. Just wondering what else I can do to increase my mpg, what to replace, what to clean. I just cleaned out my air intake no idea if that helps any just didn't know what to do next.

Also a question about somw ebay crap. A small hollow cylindricaly shaped air flow thing. Spiky on one side and flat on the other. They cost usually 10-20 bucks on ebay, said to increase mpg, torque and hp. Just seems fishy to me, do these things actually work?

My car is just what I use to get from point a to point be, I'm not a dragger or anything. I have a 1990 crx si, with a rebuild motor about 20k miles ago.

They are all crap. Dont waste your time or money.

Your best bet is to make sure your vehicle is in good running condition, change oil regularly, ignition system is good, and fuel quality is good, make sure your tire pressures are set correctly(this can affect fuel mileage drastically), and drive vehicle easier to achieve better mileage.

Just do a good tune up, keep up the maintenance, and use the cheapest gas.

One way to increase mileage is to swap in something OBDI. OBDI motors do considerably better than OBD0 motors. A D16Z6 swap, for instance, would net you a few more MPG, along with more HP. Of course, you could probably also use a P06 ECU on your stock motor. But it would have to be tuned to optimize fuel economy. And there would be distributer fitment issues.

Its funny you mention the airtube thing, if your speaking of what im thinking about, its purpose is to supposedly spin the air into the combustion chamber for a cleaner more efficient burn.

I know for a fact this is what the CIVIC (CVCC) is all about.. But did Honda continue with this technology throughout the civic history? Or did they stop producing the compound vortex controlled combustion design?

Just a question.
