Electrical Question/Problem (1990 Crx Si)
Hi there, when i bought this car around a month ago the seller told me something about a seatbelt sound problem.
From the dome belt indicator a beeping sound comes, the exact same as if you were to drive with your door open. It only happens really when I am on a bumpy road probably becuase it gets bumps loose. but im not to sure where to even start with this, what do you guys suggest checking?
also for your information one of the two two cables going to the drivers seat belt have been cut, the previous owner didnt like seatbelts i guess lol. Not to sure if that is where the problem lies but when the beeping sound goes off, no lights are on whatsoever, meaning red door lights, red seatbelt lights. i belive i say a thread with a problem resembling mine maybe two days ago in this forum. please help

I know the problem you speak of but since the "ding" sound and seatbelt light have no actual influence on seatbelt functionality I just unplugged the wire under the seat (sounds like the previous owner cut yours) and unplugged the wire at the sensor by the rearview mirror (where the ding is coming from) and that cured my problem right up. My light and ding would occur on bumps but really was bad whenever it rained so it was obviously a short somewhere. Sounds to me like all you really need to do is remove your rearview mirrow so you can pull down the housing with the seatbelt lights in it and you'll see a 4-5 wire plug that you need to dissconnect, it only controls your sb lights so no need to worry about anything else. That's all you need to do to stop the noise.
I should also mention I have a 99 Si cluster in my rex and I purposely left the seatbelt light wire disconnected so I would not have to worry about coming on there as well, so you may still have the light come on on your cluster if left alone.

Mmkkk so pulling that dome housing plus will end the noise and end the done seatbelt indicator correct?
I had another question then, at each seatbelt base there are two wires, can I just cut them and rid myslef of those cables or would it be a smart idea to keep those in?
Btw the car itself knows that I'm seatbelted in, becuase I don't get an open seatbelt indicator from the dash or the dome. Maybe its coming from somewhere else? Meh I don't really care though just that damn beeping sound is unbearable.

If it's an unbearable beeping sound(different from how you describe yours?) it could be the stupid horn/stop fuse.... for me my seat belt lights was going and the damn nosy was just killing me...so check your horn/stop fuse under the hood and replace that....I think mine started beeping first time I ran over a bump...so yeah
is it strange though that the seatbelt warning lights arent coming on? i guess ill just screw it and pull that stupid cord out of the dome. thank you all

Me AND my buddies hatch both had the sam prob, just unplug the connector in the rearview mirror/seatbelt light housing and your beeping will go away
. Just pop the plastic cover (if it's intact still) and then remove the 3 phillips head screws that hold the rearview in place. The whole assembly will come down so you can easily unplug the connector..done
