time for a new tig welder
currently have a snychrowave 250 dx. Its been a good machine but this is the second time its gone down on me in the heat of battle! First time was a HF cap and now looks like something else in the unit took a crap.
So what yall got and how you like it. I do alot of stainless and aluminum...nothing thicker than 3/8 aluminum and nothing thicker than sched. 40 stainless!
Looking to see what you guys are using as Miller is the only welder I have ever used...what else is out there? Maybe an inverter style machine. Needs to have a good pulser with nice adjustability!

Have you talked to a Miller dealer near you to find out "why" they go bad just incase? I know my local dealer has many Miller techs that can/will let me know if it happened to me. I know capacitors can have a short life that could be due to another hidden problem.
Anyways, Good Luck!

Have you called Miller? There were a small number of machines that were assembled incorrectly and had similar systems and they have been VERY kind in handling compensation.
On the other hand, my Lincoln sees very regular abuse and has never ever given me a problem. :D Very highly reccomend a precision tig 185/225/205/whatever size.

IMO this is why you need two machines, at least. Millers in my experience are hands down the most reliable and their customer service is superior to everyone else.
I have a dynasty 200dx, 300dx, love them both.

bought a HTP 201 invertig machine with watercooler, coolant, cart, free gas lense kit, foot control, torch and everything else except a bottle for 3300.00 to my door.
3 year warranty and a lovely try it for 90 days, if you dont like it for any reason..send it back for a full refund. The guys seemed very genuine and helpful on the phone and even said we are the new guys on the block compared to miller and lincoln but our machine will do everything the others will!
Ill let you guys know how it works
My miller is at the shop being fixed so...Ill have a back up for now on.

I remember wondering "when would I ever need one of those.." lol
then when we were working at Skunk2's shop for the Street Tuner Challenge back in Aug, I had the chance to use their Dynasty 300(older model)... Ordered a Dynasty 350 the first day back
we have 3 sync 250's that we've never had any problems with, and a dynasty 350 that I love
the presets are super convienent, and the high freq AC is insane for control.
