Im looking into a set of harness'....They will be mounted to my Jegster 8point cage....
Im in between either a set of two Takata harness' at 800+shipped or two Simpson Platinum Camlock harness' at 400+shipped....are they both just as effective....why the price difference?
Money is no issue as my reenlistment bonus is around the price of a new 5-series....plus im deployed so its tax free.

Takatas are expensive because they're "JDM" bling. That's it. There are plenty of other equally safe if not better harnesses available for much less money. Simpson ones will be fine.
Takatas for $800+shipping

This guy almost definitely won't be using a Hans. "Schroth" and "reasonably priced" don't belong in the same sentence. I love Schroth, but I don't love their price.

The Schroth Profi II-6 Hans is 335.00. Much cheaper than the Takata JDM Bling. Considering what Takata charges for their "higher end models", id say this is a bargain when it comes to safety, and reputation of the company who makes it. There are other brands / models that are probably equally as good as a Schroth and cheaper, but it's all a matter of personal opinion, budget ,and taste.

Compared to Takata, yes, Schroth is a good deal. But compared to everything else except Willans and Safecraft, Schroth is up there in the "most expensive" category.
I agree they're great belts, and the quality is outstanding. They're just not affordable. When you can get a pair of G-force belts that are just as safe, though not as easy to adjust or as comfortable, for $300 (less than the price of one Schroth) THAT'S affordable. This is coming from a Schroth and Willans user.
Jim, the Jegster is a drag race design, but it looks like the tubing is still legal. http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs...10775

If you plan on running NASA
1. The Jeg's rollcage does not have the required diagonal in the plane of the main hoop. The diagonal must be one piece.
15.6.7 Diagonal Brace
At least one (1) diagonal brace shall be used in the same plane as the main hoop. One end of the diagonal brace shall attach to the corner, or horizontal part, of the main hoop above the driver’s head, within twelve (12) inches of the driver’s-side corner. The other end of the diagonal brace shall attach to the mounting plate (or to the main hoop as close to the mounting plate as practically possible) diagonally opposed to the driver’s head (passenger floor). CCR p. 59-64
2. Jeg's cages are typically ERW (electric resistance welding) which is no longer allowed. Tubing must be DOM (drawn over mandrel) or chrome-moly. ERW tubing is detected by placing a paper clip through the inspection hole in the tubing and scraping around the inside of the tubing. If a welding seam is found, it is the illegal ERW tubing. The Jegs info says mild steel. Need to know if its DOM or Chrome-moly or ERW.
3. The two short tubes in the plane of the main hoop going to the floor are problematic. Legal for HC, but not for some other classes, the passenger side must be modified so that the diagonal goes all the way to the bottom of the hoop unrestricted.
4. HPDE and racing cars use the same rules for rollcage design and fabrication.
(All cars with full roll cages should conform to the applicable
sections found in section #15.0.) CCR p.59
Not trying to be an a--hole, just trying to help.
