Default 5 Lug Conversion Why??

I drive a 2000 CX and my question to you guys are what do you get out of the 5 lug conversion? Besides brakes & extra lug. My friend told me something about the control arms? Saying CX arms suck.....

why do people put body kits on? Engine swaps? New suspension? Anything? Because they want to. Obviously you dont' want to. So don't do it.

what i posted a million times already:

average 5 lug with the wheels go for 1500.
i then sold my si wheels/tires for 350
i then sold the ITR shocks/springs/sway bar for 300 since they dont fit on 96+ hatches (besides the sway bar + mount kit)
i then sold my old drum set up for 100.
350+300+100=$750? doing this from the top of my head..
1500-750= $750 after all is said and done

$750 for some nice brakes, for some nice wheels, and an extra lug that is 75% for looks.. 25% for performance

So 5 Lug conversion has nothing to do with better handling?

5-lug can also attribute to good handling IF:

You get the rear swaybar and mounting crap
You get the struts

That's about it really in terms of handking as in turning/cornering

I thinm jonas covered it pretty good.

If you want more braking power get the wilwood kit for about 600, or is it 700. anyway it comes with 4 pot calipers. I rather have that than 5 lugs.

see people, its not as expensive as it seems.
mine was about 750 after all was said and done, and migs' was 400 (he had a gsr platform to start from).

if it were all for the performance, or more like 25& for looks 75% for performance, i would have done that morning wood upgrade or whatever.

but i'm not, i'm into 20 inch rims with the 5 lug. (jk)

actually it's better to have 4 lugs since it's lighter...like GSRor EK4 disc brakes. 5 lugs are for better braking since it has bigger rotor. there's not much difference in handling at all. it's just make your car heavier. so if you are into circuit racing or auto-x, from my experience I would stay with 4 lugs. I also would recommend to people it's better to buy better brake pads for $300. at least you can feel the difference.

the reason y is that the braking is wayyy better stays cooler longer its dual piston caliper
and most the time u get the sway bars also and those are the greatest
u can hit aany turn like a dream and it loooks titiiite take a look at mine

You might be surprised how much stress race slicks can exert on your wheels/chassis. Extra lug is mostly for looks, but in an autoX situation it might save you (till the end of the run that is). Until your wheel starts to carck...

Tooqwik, you are the guy with the Civic with the S2000 wheels. I was taking a picture of that car for days when I saw it at Norm Reeves. I was the Black Integra GSR in the "preferred parking" area with the white unpainted lip also with 5lug and GM wheels.

Anyway, Ive been wanting to do the S2000 wheel on my last EG but it was stolen before I could get to it. Anyway, take care, see ya around.

StopTech has a very good setup for brakes for a reasonable price.

I for one would only get a 5-lug conversion if I owned a HB, and wanted to created a wannabe CTR.
