Default OT: High compression (12:1+) with ITR cams

Quick question for you guys.

Everyone knows that high lift cams love compression. JUNs and Todas make their power with high compression. 12:1 and up is ideal for those cams.

With ITR cams - some guys advise to stay in the 11s with compresson. Say 11.5:1. Why?

12:1 will definately make more power than 11.5:1. Right? So why spend the money for pistons and not go "all the way".

I'm gonna run either CTR cams or Skunk2 stage 1 cams with either 11.8:1 or 12.3:1 (84.5mm). Tuned with a Hondata.

Which compression would you guys run in your motor? Would half a point make a big difference ... ?

something that you consider went going with high CR is what type of octane that you have available ,like for cali the highest is 91 . unless you plan to spend $4-5
on getting 100 octane from certain gas stattion which there not that comment .

itr cams are not high overlap cams therefore increased comp helps but is not really necesary in order to make power.
when dealing with a high lift/high overlap you will want increase compression to make up for what you have lost.
