Default problem with my Zc Motor

I have a big problem with a zc motor ...
i used to have a single cam non vtec ZC motor on my EF9 with the SI tranny,Headers,Cold Air intake, motor was really strong and could feal the power
and so after 1yr i blew up the motor
I had the car sitting for about 4 months after that decided to get the same jdm zc with all the same mods i had like the headers, intake, but After i got it put in it doesn't run the same as my old zc.
It doesn't have that fast response when i used to hit the gas. it takes a very long time to get speed and its not the same power.now i have to push the gas petal all the way to the floor and still nothing
my old zc i just press it half way and it was flying.
.. Anyone know what could be the problem ???

Throttle cable adjusted properly? Did you give it a tune-up before installing it? Is it throwing any codes?

i had the motor installed at a shop
Just now i was gonna change the spark plugs and realized that it had oil so it needs a valve cover gasket. I havent check the ecu for code errors but i did adjust the throttle cable i even opened more the throttle. I was also thinking the timing. How would the timing help get more power ?

Well if the timing is off it can/will rob power. When fixed it won't make more power, it will just resore it to where it should be.

well how can i know if the timing is off ? the car starts up good. The car haves been idling from
1-2 rpm but after a short time it goes away. And the owner of the shop recommended me to get the ECU Chipped for 100 if i want more power. but ive already wasted lot of money on it....Ps how hard is it to swap engines ? how do i know which wires or hose to cut ? anyone know any good sites that explain how to swap engines.thanks

Not hard, Haynes or Helms manual will so you, or do a search (note red "search" icon in upper left).

You found the right site! BTW I seriously doubt you would have to cut any wires or hoses. IMO with my talent EF engines swaps are easy.

Sounds like this guy may be trying to screw you out of some $$$. For codes, is the check engine light coming on at all?

The surging idle issue may be caused by a dirty IACV or FITV. Clean both of them out and see if it helps.

14 is IACV/EACV and code 8 is TDC sensor.

I don't think you can buy the sensor seperate. You might be able to find one at a junk yard. Or just get the whole dist.

i went to the junk yard to see if i could find a distributor but they were all gone. Anyone have a pic of how the TDC Sensor looks like ? And what is the whole dist of the distributor ? I also got a IACV from the junk yard. You guys think i need to replace that or what do i need to do with the code 14 Electronic Air Control (EACV or IAC)

Didn't you get my PM? Just unbolt the one that's currentl;y on there, clean the screen out reaaaaalllllly well with carb or MAF cleaner (you'll know when it's clean, no more grime will come out), let it dry and replace it.
