Default Brake Master Cylinder is it possible to rebuild it?

As stated in the topic title. I received a 97 ITR brake master cylinder with booster from a buddy for free so I was just wondering is there anyway to have it rebuilt with new seals?

All the local brake caliper places that rebuild calipers aren't willing to do it aside from the fact of not having the parts.

So is it possible?

i don't believe it's possible to rebuild the unit with new seals. i've looked at the diagram for the parts ordering and there isn't anything in terms of seperate seals inside of the MC itself (only the rear seal between the MC and the booster, new resevoir bottle, res cap and cap seal).

since it's free you should just try it out.

I don't mind trying it out, but I'd be pissed if the pedal feel wasn't the same after or worse sunk to the floor.

I wonder what goes wrong when pedal get the sinking pedal at stop lights and such...

hmm, perhaps there air in the system still...or you could possibly have a leak somewhere.

oh, and make sure you do not use penetrating fluid on the MC at all (incase you're trying to free up some bolts)....you can mess up the seals with penetrating fluid.

Could be a vacuum leak.

I mean in terms to the brake master cylinder itself....unless it was leaking from in between the booster and reservoir.

I dunno...

at one time you could buy the parts to rebuild a MS, not anymore. Liability issues scared sompanies away from it.

pedal to the floor at stop lights = bad MS
air in the lines would feel soft when moving as well.

Default Rebuilt M.C. (hammer)

I was thinking there was a procedure in the HELMS for this?
Can't remember if it was M.C. or booster diaphram or both?
Check for ACURA parts with len.
