hey about this, will a gen one CRX cluster fit in my 86 dx as the dx doesn't have the rpms ..
i know that the sourounding dash is different but the inner piece still looks the same how about it?

yes, Si will go into DX. i'm pretty sure there are some wiring differences, though.

although, in my 87 CRX DX it had a tach...

I don't think you can directly swap a CRX cluster into the Civic. If we could alot more people running B-Series swaps would just stick the CRX HF cluster in our cars. Normally we end up pulling the VSS parts from an HF or Integra cluster and adding them to our Civic clusters to get a working VSS signal. I little off the topic, but as you can imagine more work than swapping the CRX cluster in, but since very few swap it directly I'm thinking there is a problem doing it. I have and extra Civic Si right now, I could test my CRX 140MPH cluster in to get a 100% I know one way or the other answer, right now I'm at 65-70% against the CRX cluster being a direct bolt on to the Civic.

Oh yeah, looking good man. Get the car running, I need an excuse to drive up there again.

whoops, sorry. didn't know he had a hatch. no, civic/crx are not interchangeable. civic to civic will work, and crx to crx will work. sorry for the confusion.

so your sayin if i got an si hatch cluster it would work? im pretty handy with wiring and electrical so if things need spliced over i could do it ... just wonderin.. thanx for the help
