i went online and got a radio wiring diagram for my 88 crx si. however when i hooked up all the wires and i use the radio it works fine. but when i turn if off and than on there was no memory. it restarts everytime. any suggestions

 

Is it an aftermarket one or stock one?

 

you probably have the 2 power wires switched, one gets constant 12v even when the car is off so it retains the memory, and one is a switched 12v that turns it off when the car goes off, they are most likely switched.

 

i tried to switch the power wires at first but when i had them one way it got power but no illumination. and the other way nothing happened.
