Default 97 vtec seal leak

i took my 97 accord to the shop after noticin a oil in my drivewayi have a leak coming from one or more of my seals, its was pretty rich underneath. My mechanic gave me some leak detection so i'll put that in and take it back to his shop after about 75 miles so he can check in detail...but anyhow he noticed my engine doing some type of puttn after removing the cap and placin hand over it...I personally can barely tell but he says that i might wanna consider gettin a new engine due to the fact that it is leakin instead of gettin new seals..which aren't cheap...i can still drive my car and get full power without getting this fixed it doesn't affect the performance at all...i'll prob put maybe a half quar in every 9 days....

i really dont have a lot of money to spend at the moment, do u guys think i should just go with the seals or get a new motor...

i have a 97 ex vtec 4cyl in there now

Any help or suggestion are well appreciated

WTF are you babbling about? Does he mean you need new rings because your compression sucks? Also Change your SIG, 97 Accord VTECH? lol

well if you don't have a lot of money i would not suggest a new motor unless you know how to put one in yourself. also, when buying a replacement motor you run the risk of running into the same problem, or other headaches. i would get an estimate from the garage you took it to, and then shop around other places and see what they're charging.

get a compression check... and btw without the oil cap on your going to feel air coming out.. my sisters new jetta will actually spray oil out if the cap isn't on and its running.
