Best way to break in brakes?
1. Brake from 30-35 mph 6 times with moderate consistent pedal pressure
2. Brake from 50-60 mph 4 times with moderate consistent pedal pressure
3. Allow brakes to sit unused for 15-20 min
4. Drive on, your brakes are ready

My friend just put some brembo blanks and hawk hps on his G2, and we went out for the first time and those pads grab like no other, even when they are not up to temperature.

HPS are great for the street - initial bite is really good. But at the track - they don't stand up to the heat really well. Porterfield R4s are better imho

Exactly what I'm saying. The HPS seem to be a great street pad to me. They probably would hold their own at auto-x's too, because through the short runs on the auto-x pads will not see nearly as much heat as they do on a 20 minute session at the track.
I have not tried any Porterfields yet, but maybe in the future.

R4 pads not the R4S
I'm talking R4 plural when I wrote R4s ( I mean R4's)
R4S pads are no better than HPS

Endless CC-X pad do not handle heat as well as Hawk HP+

Endless
I've used MA-11's on the track and they are great.
I used the NA-Y pads at my last lapping event (they were used, about 1/2 life left) and was very surprised. I put Autozone rotors and pads on my Si to sell, but since my hybrid wasn't ready in time, I ran the Si. A friend of mine had some used Endless NA-Y's and I figured I would just use those.
Well I was shocked, for the lowest level pad by Endless, they worked great all day, two drivers, 85 degree heat. I didn't drive super hard on them (ask sackdz) but hard enough to expect them to fade.
Good stuff

Ever since the two days of ITR Expo, my R4s pads/oem rotors scream like a pig. I guess it's time for me to change them and learn how to swap race pads on lapping days.
If you're a little more **** retentive about brake breaking procedure check out:
http://www.baer.com or http://www.apracing.com
Look for their FAQ section and they both have specific break in procedures.
For starters, you want to use new pads on old rotors
and vice versa (old pads on new rotors), a combination of stops to slowly bring the brake system up to temperature and then slowly bring the temps back down and let it sit for a period of time before thrashing on your brakes again.
Hopefully that helps.

What about the CC-Rs?

the ccx compound isn't as good as ccm and ccr... but still pretty good
i used to use Hawk as well... awesome initial bite, but not much after that... the strong initial bite fools you into thinking you're braking stronger than you really are. Endless pads have a more progressive bite, which actually make them more streetable, better for brake modulation, and trail braking
Yes the initial bite of the HP+ is good, I use this for street, autox, and light track.
Heavy braking track, or long sessions, Hawk Blues plus a set of rotors.
