does it matter, auto ecu or manual

I know its a noob question, but my wifes 2000 civic ex is an auto, she needs an ecu, does it matter if its an auto or manual ecu. I NEED HELP!!!!

Yes she will need an Auto ECU for her make, model & year.

thank you I have guys trying to sell me manual ones saying they will work the same, but I wasn't sure
