Default JDM OEM HIDs on a 97?

Just a quick yes or no question. I heard from someone that the OEM HID headlights don't fit on USDM 97 Type-Rs because the ABS system gets in the way of the ballasts. Is this true, or will these headlights work on a 97 as they would any other ITR?

i would think this, too. the issue would be fitting the projectors correctly in the 97 housings. then again, why ruin a set of jdm headlights for the projectors unless they're messed up already when you can use: tsx, a6, e55, bmw, s2000, etc. projectors? GL

Sorry, I don't think I made myself clear enough. I have a JDM front end on my 97 ITR and I want to install the whole HID headlights, not just the projectors. I had just heard that the placement of the ABS on 97s would get in the way of running these headlights.

The 1997 US ITR ABS is the same as the 98+ smaller ABS units.

So this is a USDM 97 ITR? Or is this a USDM 97 Integra?

If it is a real 97 ITR, then the headlights will fit. If it is a fake R, then it will not fit. The newly designed ABS unit was only on the ITR in 97. Now if it was a JDM ITR and had ABS and was a 97, then the HID's will NOT fit. The JDM ITR's did not get the redesigned ABS unit until 98.

Not to mention us getting the 5x114 before Japan did.

Or the fact that we got the ITR before the rest of the world, besides Japan.

There are plenty more things that are different between the 2 97 R's and they aren't the obvious things such as a different front end.

It's pretty cool that you have two 97'Rs, each one from two different sides of the world and two different configurations.
