These things are very unfortunate.

I read an artical a while back where some states wanted to raise the driving age from 16 to 18. some university did a long term study and discovered that the human brain doesnt fully develope in the logic and decision making areas until about 18 years old on average. Also some brains would develope by 16 or 17 and others as late as 19 or 20. Ironically parents were the ones that put up the biggest resistance about not passing the new law. Their reasoning was because they didn't want to drive their kids around for an 2 extra years.

I've spun my car several times in wet conditions, due to having a lot of crap in the trunk, and the engine refusing to pull the car out of a slide. Younger drivers are definitely dumber. However I find on day to day basis unconfident drivers to be more dangerous. Their indecisiveness can lead to some really dangerous situations.
