Auto-x ONLY - Front and Rear Brake pads
Its for mildly modded G3 GSR on street tires which may get upgraded to R- Comps soon
No street duties, dust, Noise etc no issues at all. I can change the pads to an ordinary one while changing the tires).
ONLY for Auto-X, what is the best brake pad to be used in the Front?
What about the rear? Some people go with ordinary pads to aviod lock ups? My experience with Hondas has been that they don't have enough rear brake bias??
Anyway, what reccomended for Rear?
Thanks

For autoxing? I would think those pads would need a decent amount of heat to get up to operating temp. Heat that wouldn't be available in an autox.
Schumi, the current HP+ is a pretty decent cold-operative pad, and is probably your best bet. A more aggressive pad than that might also give you some problems with tire lockup on street tires.

I have run the Hawk setup already mentioned and I am currently running the CobaltFriction equivalent and like them both the same.

I also think that for Auto-x, the initial "bite" is important which I think HP+ can provide?

You are correct.

I honestly don't know, I'm not enough of an autoxer. Maybe Cobalt GT-Sports? I'm only suggesting that based on my track experience, with the GT-Sports being a touch more aggressive than the HP+. I'd get a better answer from someone else though.
i've been dodging cones for a while. hp+, gts, axxis ultimates all work fine. i realy liked the gt sports and hp+ over the ultimates for their initial bite.
rear pads-u can do whatever u want there. but it realy doesnt matter. it depends on how much u rely on trailbraking on the autocross courses and how fast your courses are. at a nat'l event (fast course) i'd dial back some rear brake.
in general, id go with something mellow back there.

Your giving up valuable stopping time if you don't balance out your brakes well ;-)

maybe im drunk off my new RE01R rubber, but i dont see any of your autoXy compound for honduhs listed yet
stoked to give them a go tho
as for the what if i switch to R comps. at the events we run here i run both race and street tires because our rules are kinda wonky, but one day i ran hp+ with v710's and then the next it was my hawk blue setup. it didnt seem to make any difference to me for the autoX course and the blues made a real mess of my wheels. they currently are chilling on the shelf for 8 months waiting for me to do a track day in the distant future

HT-10 have a better initial bit than the Blue with the same starting temp..if i remember 400F the Black compound lower temp start at 100F..not 100% sure on those numbers but they are really close if they are not correct.
A lot of fast car are using Hawk Blue and the HT-10 are so much better for initial bite that it doesn`t make sense to go with the Blue...
This might be too much for street tire but will be ok with good r-compound.

right but its a waste to run a track pad at the autocross if all you do is autocross. yes, i run ht-10 at the autocross. because i don't own any other pads but ht-10s. and i got to the track a frickin lot.

Since the OP has an Acura. He may not realize that BHP617 for the Civic w/ABS is the same BHP617 for the teg's.
The Hawk stuff has never really impressed me.
I'll be using the CR6 BHP pads for 08. Look for the BHP stickers to be on the cars at the pointy end of race fields across the country, autocross and track.

I've put axxis ultimates on a bunch of BMWs at work, and hawks on some, i'd say the ultimate is more equivalent to the HPS, and the HP+ is more aggressive.
For me, the HPS is good for street tires, but doenst provide the bite I want with v710s. The HP+ have been great for me on R comps, but I lock up everywhere with azenis and HP+. With ABS maybe it wouldnt be an issue.
I felt the HP+ were not up to track duty at all.
