Default Car wont start d16z6

i recently installed a D16z6 in my 1996 civic hatch.

im still using my stock obd2 ecu, stock obd2 altenator obd2 injectors ppl have told me it would work but my vtec wont be working wich is fine for now.

brand new battery and dizzy with the obd2 to obd1 conversion. im gttn spark and fuel. grounds are good, all wire plugs are connected fuses are good.

my car cranks but it doesnt start. ive been doing alot of searches but couldnt seem to get answers. would anyone know why?

what trim was your 96 hatch? it sounds to me that it is the ecu ... like was the stock obd2 ecu vtec? if not, then a vtec ecu should work.

its a stock obd2 non vtec. but local shops here say it would still start but my vtec wont be working wich i dont need rite now.

my full harness has been converted to obd1 so im ready to wire up the vtec when i get my harness clipover with the p28 but at the moment im just trying to get it to start.


is ther eason why its not starting up bcz im not using the p28?

its the wrong ecu but it will...or should still start. i put a z6 in my 93 hatch and kept my po9 in there for a while hoping it would save gas mileage. but it should start. maybe try obd1 ecu...long shot but it might work.

Is the timing correct on the engine and ignition? It always a good idea to use the right ecu, but if others have done it i dont see why you cant.
