brake booster question

Default brake bosster

ok i just put rear dics from an si on my crx hf when i start the car and press the brakes the idle seems to go up a tad prob like 100 200 rpms the drop back to 800.any ideal on what could be cause this?im thinking maybe the booster has a vac leak some where?

Sounds like a leak in the diaphram of the brake booster. You might even be able to hear an air leak inside the car(under the dash).

nope i cant hear anything.it didnt do it with the hf drums.

To check it properly you need a vacuum pump and apply 18in.hg. to the brake booster and see if it holds a vacuum.

When switching to discs from drums you need the proportioning valve too.

yea i got the entire trailing arms si cables and si proportion valve.

haha fyi it was FREE all i had to do is switch them out with my hf drum brakes.
