Default BASE RSX

OK im new to this site, iv had my DC5 for over a year now... i think?

anyways, i was wondering. i made the mistake and purchased the base model. i dont really think its such a bad car.not a type-s but still an RSX. ok im going off topic again, i was wondering on any advice on making it a strong and get the most out of the car. tips on add ons, upgrades best place to find the upgrades. money isnt to much of an issue, just takes a while to save up. so if i get goods tips i guess you guys will see a lil base gorwing up into a big car.
thanks in advance for the helps guys!!!
(been browsing this site for months and you all know what your talking about!)

So what do you want? To be a fast as a Type S?

Swap or boost. Everything is expensive.

what if i just want to upgrade my engine seeing as the swap seems a little difficult and expensive.

All you would have to do is replace the K20A3 head with a K20A2 head, but then you will still have low compression pistons. At which point you have to take a look at how much you want to spend because at this point you already need Kpro. The cheapest route would be to swap out the pistons depending on labor or just go all out and get a k24. Honestly you are better off selling your base and getting a type-s if you dont have the knowledge of pulling out the engine, plan on staying K20 not k24, and dont plan on replacing internals.

Get a good I/H/E combo and some tuning.

I thought money wasn't an issue? Now I suggest a JRSC.

sence your a base boost is your best option, as for a swaping it wouldnt be worth it, if you want na, trade your car in for a type s

Do you not like the adrenaline rush? The rollercoaster ride? The boost that owns your wallet?

With a turbo, you can also get it as fast and reliable as possible.

no money really isnt an issue, but i dont want to spend to much. i just have to save up. i was more looking towards just beefin up my internals, and what i would need to do, and if that would benefit me in anyway.
im not trying to get my car super fast so i can brag i just want nice power and very reliable. (sorry im typing as much as i can, they only allow 5 posts in one day)
to whos ever ? it was above, its a 5 Speed.
Gwoing up with my dad who is a mechanic for 40 years, i have a good general knowledge on engine building. not to hot on the electrical side.
OK so i guess my question is, would beefin up internals benefit me for this car, is it a majorly hard job on this car and would it be worth it. for reliability, and power.

I would prob stick with I/H/E and maybe some ECU work. I put a CAI on my car and i noticed the power differance right off the bat. Plus, those three basic things wont cost a lot and the car will still be a great daily driver. I drive mine at least 60 miles a day and it has never had a problem. Injen makes a good CAI as well as Fujita. I also love the HKS Hi-Power exhaust and DC headers. Maybe go with a Hondata re flash if you can get it on a base model. Go to wotm.com, they have pretty good prices.

I wouldn't get a CAI. Short ram is considerably cheaper and safer.

If you get a short ram, go with an AEM V2.

Doesn't work that easy and simple. Would cost a bit more trying to get it to work properly.

A swap is too difficult and expensive?

Think about it...you want to beef up the internals of the K20A3, that would no doubt require removing the motor anyway. If you can add pistons to a motor, you can swap a motor.

By the time you add up the costs (money and time) of pistons, A2 head, cams, springs, intake manifold, etc....you might as well just start looking at a K20A2.

Do the swap...the K20A3 is a crap motor to build on all-motor anyways.
