I am looking into turboing my 91 obd1 crx with a d16z6. My budget is around 1000-1400 bucks and I know the SS auto crap stuff is crap but I was looking on ebay and found this kit

The manifold is cast and is a really complete kit. I know if I spent more I could peice together I really quality kit . but any input on this would be awesome thanks

The problem with SSAC turbo kits goes beyond just the manifold. You dont know for sure what kind of turbo and wastegate they're including with the kit. Those two pieces are vital in a good turbo setup. I wouldn't half-*** them....

Go to the marketplace and find a cheap log manifold...cast or tubular. After that, find a small Garrett or Turbonetics turbo, and keep adding <u>GOOD</u> parts to your build. Also, check out http://www.homemadeturbo.com . Those guys are experts in building cheap, effective turbo setups

 

wow. where to start with those links... well some pics show a log manifold and others show a tubular. and the other link shows the parts laying around with a bov, and in the pic showing everything on the block, has no bov...plus those turbos are probably rebuilt or shitty in general. cheap price but i wouldnt do it, too risky. i bought all quality products for my turbo gsr setup and im sure it will payoff in performance and reliability. the 2 most important things
