This is a very early heads up. There will be plenty of information to come. Event will be held at Atco Raceway in Atco NJ. Event will held on September 27th, 2008. Drag Racing, Car Show, Vendors Alley and plenty of entertainment.

Mark your calender and get ready for the action.

If you are or know of a vendor that would like to participate at this event...please contact me at allmotor11@excite.com or jeff@partshippers.com. I have some vendor details already.

Spread the word to other honda boards making them aware of this. Please link me via pm to those other areas and i'll be happy to provide details.

Lets see how many Honda's we can fit into one venue!!!

Will there be adequate police protection. There seems to be a lot of theft activity that comes along with this type event.

I'd be willing to bring the title to prove the car is mine. But I think half the world knows who rota's yellow hatch belongs to.

well lets face it...if there are issues whether the car your in belongs to you or not...having a title in hand isn't a bad idea. I thought you were referring to theft and simply keeping an eye on things the best one possibly can. No track wants "shady place" linked to their place of business. Its also not a mall parking lot. There will be people there doing their best to keep their eyes open..but with anything..its best to do your own part in protecting your valuables.

Track is only 15 minutes from my house and there are no other events scheduled that day.

is this the same "honda day" that was previously held at e-town or is it being seetup by different vendors completly?

Well if etown isn't holding a honda-day(which i do not know personally)...then this is the new location but don't expect it to be the same ole same ole. I've never seen autoxing at Atco...so at this point its going to be a Drag event, show event and entertainment. My job is to get as many people at this event as possible, get those people to an ample amount of vendors while making sure everyone has fun.

I'll copy paste something i just sent a vendor.

"I've worked on past Honda-tech Honda days at etown...but I'm going to make a strong effort to make this event as successful as i can. I for one believe (as many do) that the import industry is taking a hit in general. Events like this...if done correctly... while getting good people involved... can keep the tristate area strong with imports. Its up to me and people like you...to gather crowds and getting well developed vendors like you are in one venue, that will allow this industry to strive.

If you have suggestions that you would like to see...or things you feel can be improved from past events...don't hesitate to speak up. I will listen and i'm open to new things. This doesn't mean i can implement them but i will certainly entertain ideas."

That last part is open to everyone. I can't make one single promise...but i can certainly listen and do all i can if its at all feasible.

Honda day at Etown is still going on this year - as it is on its 08 schedule.

So guess this would be different . . .

 

currently 3 classes and 2 bracket classes. drag race, large car show, life style venue, vendors alley(working hard on this).
oh...and the biggest concern from past events is being addressed...SECURITY.

I was asked in another thread if this was THE honda day. I said...as far as i know etown is holding a honda day event but i believe its just on their schedule because its been on there a few years. No idea who is in charge of it.

any word on what vendors are showing up?

 

i had 2 contact me in the first day. One Vendor will be there in full force(12-15 cars of their own/customers). I'm keeping the names out for a couple weeks til things get sorted. I do know that the sfwd class will be sponsored by UrbanRacer.

Remember people...etown has their event...its not the same day as this...they do not conflict with each other...everyone can make both if they wish. Lets make the Atco Honda-day a great success.

I'll have a good amount of info this week

 

They have auto-x at Atco from time to time. When they do have it, they set it up on the spectator side of the track, not sure how much of that area got cut into for the new tower and grandstand.

People just need to be more careful about their cars that's all. We all know what kind of people this sort of event attracts, as long as everyone prepares for it hopefully no one will lose anything of value.

 

I'll probably be there
