Type R muffler on EG hatch, will it fit???

Will the type R muffler fit on a EG hatchback? Nevermind the piping or whatever, i just want to know if the muffler itself will fit? I keep getting conflicting stories on this. Anyone here whos done it before?? Thanx guys.

CTR will fit perfectly, if you can find one (fat chance). ITR will line up w/ the hangers, but the tip sticks out really far, you have to cut it off and get it re-welded shorter

the tip is too long, i just cut the tip off at an angle to try and keep the same look as stock.

You cant really tell by this pic but it looks pretty good how it is

I had the muffler welded on new hangers and attached it to my tanabe race piping, it sounds really good.

coo so a ITR exhaust will bolt up to my EH2...thats good stuff..who wouldve thought.....kinda like my Ek exhaust question...

it'll fit..... i had one on my EG but i sold it.... sticks out a little but have a muffler shop redo your piping and reposition it.....

what did you use to cut the tip and get it straight? nice car BTW, my old red VX looked exactly the same w/ black gsr's

It was a angled bench saw. I probably wouldnt recommened doing that. It took 3 of us to do it because of the akward shape of the muffler and i was scared as hell as it was cutting. you could probably use an electric hand saw with similar results.

I have a CTR muffler on my 96 CX, if anybody is interested in the dimensions, let me know and I'll go measure it.

The CTR muffler section actually bolted directly up to my stock b-pipe. The piping is a little bigger then stock, but the gasket/donut just sunk farther in. No leaks.

Will put the CTR b-pipe on with my swap.

Got the CTR exhaust from Brian Wong "b18c_powered_si"
