I think over 350 around the city is wasted, but ppl being boost hungry 350 and up isnt uncommon.

A GT42R would be perfectly streetable for a daily driver honda, because no matter how much gas you give it in the city it'll never make boost Really though, it's a shitty choice for a street car and you'll lose all that fun of pulling on on-ramps and hitting it with some boost.

I'm not shooting for 42r numbers but with my S256 i'm hoping for 450-470whp on the street on E85. I may have to turn it down or learn to feather the throttle on my Drag Radials

My last setup on my stock GSR made 315whp and it was a good time around town

Umm no. No one is doing that. Those turbos are not for any daily driving purposes whatsoever.

I cant imagine daily driving a 42R would be much different that a 35R on the street, your only going to make so much power on pump gas. After 400whp you going to have to live with wheelspin. I run my car around the street on 23psi 585wheel, it pretty much punishes the tires in 1,2,3 with an LS Tranny/Quaife and 205/50/15 DR's, but still accelerates hard as hell.

i drove my 35r powered car as a daily for a long time. usually around 430whp. but sometimes i ran c116 in it making 600whp, depending where i was going and what i was doing.

can you even run a 42r on the street realistically? i can see it for just putting around, but if you let that thing loose, the power it would make on "low boost" would be much more than pump gas would handle safely. you would need e85 or some high octane gas just to give it any throttle IMO.

I daily drive my integra. AC/ABS/PS/Cruise everything is still on it. Pump gas it is only making 425whp but on race gas it runs the numbers in my sig. Even with high 300 you can barely hook 3rd gear on street tires. Still fun though.

I was daily driving my integra up until not too long ago when I picked up my RSX but I was making 460whp on a gt3076r.

Turn the boost down and it's not going to magically detonate on pump gas. That sounds like SupraForums talk, where they insisted for a while that you couldn't run a GT47 on pump gas, and that it probably wouldn't make as much power as a 66mm turbo on pump gas because of it's inefficiency at lower boost levels. A 42R at 14 or 15 psi isn't going to be moving so much air you'll detonate.

i was running my 35r with one wastegate and it would creep up towards 20psi no matter what. i just didnt know if you could control the boost on a 42r (even with 2 WGs) to keep it low enough in boost and power to keep it from detonating.

I wouldn't say "fault" per say, poor choice maybe? lmao..

To each his own though, I personally think anything over 350whp on the street is silly. 450whp is fun, but factor in BFG's monthly and it gets old real fast.
