Default Problem with Kenwood KDC-X815 HU

I have a Kenwood KDC-X815 cd player in my 95 accord was working fine until one day i went over a rail road kinda fast and the head unit stopped working. Now all it does is flip down as if it was going to eject cd. I Checked all cables even got a new harness because other one was kinda old. The unit stays flipped down after putting face plate on (takes like 30 sec. to flip down) stays like that until i remove the face. Then it flips back up but unit does not power on with remotecontrol or without. Any ideas what can be wrong with my unit. Here is a pic of the faceplate to give an idea of what stereo it is. thanks.

I used to have one of those exact units... Sounds like it's damaged and would need to be repaired or replaced. That thing is relatively old, might be time for a new one. Repairing them can often times be pretty expensive. Yours looks a bit beat up as well. I really doubt this is a wiring issue though.

Definitely going to need repair. Specifically, I'm betting that the control flex between the face & the chassis has failed.
