Default using fast system to run k series motor?

i am stripping out the bseries today getting ready to install my k setup and im curious if anyone has any insight on a fast system will it be able to run the k series motor? cam trigger, crank trigger, of coarse i will be using cam gears or chain gears and the last issue is will the fast system be able to set up coil over plug? anyone with the vast wiring knowledge would be great! chad

also i know the k pro is there and aem i have just been a big fan of my fast system for year and im very familiar with it!

from the experience i had fast doesn't like cop setup's even though they say you can , we had issues trying it on a s2000, after talking with a fast tech rep, he couldn't help us figure it out , so after a lot of time wasted we whent with a distributor setup.

will it be able to control the i-vtec?? anyway?

not saying it can't do it but man the only instructions i was for a vette cop setup , and the guy said " at the time know one had ever done this" this was 3 years ago

you would need to get an e-dist box. Roush uses them with the newer Mod Motor COP mustangs.

Don't do it Chad. Keep it simple, put a K-Pro and have some fun. Give us a call if you need anything.

The FAST XFI only has 1 ignition output, you will (at least) need the XIM ignition module to drive 4 coils. Triggering strategy may be another issue we'd have to investigate further.

The K Pro is a MUCH better computer, i wouldn't bother trying to downgrade to a FAST for a K series.

I'd have to agree for you car, especially since you have an older FAST system. Just unload it and buy a KPro.

Chad we have an old FAST Sequential on our car and it is very easy to use with the individual coils. Like Brian said, you have to run the E-Dist, which is a $300 or $400 piece and when we bought ours, FAST acted like there weren't many left sitting on the shelf.

Between the FAST, FAST Data Logger, E-Dist, and DIS-4...it isn't a cheap setup, but like you, we had it sitting around.

The K-Pro definately has more capability, but for an all motor setup the FAST works fine. It is some caveman stuff, but is also simplifies things That and every time I work with Hondata I get some friggin bug in the program.

We have an M800 we are switching to when we get a chance, but I am going to miss the FAST like I miss Excite Bike on Nintendo. I'll PM you Josh's number if you have any questions about setting up the sensors or anything.

<= FAST and Hondata Dealer
like brian said, id sell the FAST system and buy a Kpro
fyi, the Edist is $410.. you'll spend just over $650 to get all the necessary components to make the FAST system work... kind of a waste imo

degree the cams and be done with it! k pro hasso many features its just alot to tune and fine tune on a race motor that you would rather be making passes at the track rather than passes on the dyno!
