Default Which harness for my 96 hatch gsr?

I am getting ready to do my swap this weekend, a usdm 95 obd1 gsr into a 96 civic cx hatch, non vtec. What harness should I use. I searched but didnt find much in detail. I was just going to hardwire vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch and knock sensor manually but I dont want sloppy wires this time.

Get a 96-98 EX harness. Or you can use your stock CX harness and wire in VTEC... You're going to need to get an OBD2a P72 ECU as well.

I used my stock harness and wired in VTEC, it was the easiest and cheapest way for me. why dont you want to use your stock one again?

I kinda want it to be plug n play this time. Every swap I've done in the past I've used my stock harness and hard wired into the ecu/solenoids/sensors. I want it to be neat this time, not to mention easy, but this'll be my 1st gsr swap all others were b16's.

use a gsr wiring harness...or if the only thing you are missing is vtec, wire it in. that would be the cheapest and probably easiest route to go. or maybe you could use a 99-00 si harness? not sure about that one though.

Wow use a GSR harness....yeah.....ummm....no
hehehe j/k

GSR harness will not work.
your choices are either 96-98 EX harness
or you OG harness moddifed

and a obd2 gsr ecu
or obd1 gsr ecu with jumper

oh thats just my 2 cents though....I'm assuming this is a civic hatch and not a integra hatch.

either way, using your stock harness or a EX harness, you'll still have to do wiring. you'll still have to wire up the IAB's. GL!

if u want it to be nice and neat use your stock harness, take ur time and take off all the black tape and black covering so all thats left is wires and plugs, start pluggin up the motor, after you got everything all hooked up, take the black covering that u took off eariler and cover it all back up and tape it with electrical tape..it will look pretty much stock/factory style

you'll save alot $$$...whats so bad about the wiring? its just 4-5 wires that you have to wire up? its not hard at all.

Keep your harness the only things that need to be switched over are distributor, injectors, and alternator. Password:jdm makes a distributor jumper harness for swapping between obd2 to obd1. The injectors are easy to wire and can be easily hidden, and the alternator is a few wires that wont be seen so you dont have to worry about seeing the mess.

Just like everyone else said you can either modify your stock harness ( you don't want to so thats out the option) or you can get the 96-98 civic ex harness. Either way your still going to have to wire up the iab's if you plan ahead it will be clean, just pick yourself up some loom and heat shrink. Take your time and it will look good.

For the alternator plug

you can just swap over the plugs for your distributor

You can also just resolder the GSR injector plugs on your harness or swap plugs over

correct. you have to use a 96-98 gsr dizzy, use your injectors off your d16 (same as the gsr 240cc), a dizzy off a 0bd2 gsr. depining and rewiring it will save you money on all those parts, why buy when you already have it?

repining the dizzy is very easy as all the wires are the same color, just match them! and the alternator i belive there is three wires that are the same color, match those and just wire up the two different colors. use your existing injectors! also you'll have to wire up the IAB and convert to a 2 wire IACV. notihng to it really. just takes at most 30-45 mins of wiring!

okay so a obd1 gsr dizzy or a obd2 gsr dizzy?? I am confused a little.

I am gonna just rewire my injectors unless I find a set of obd1 ones for cheap right?

And I am gonna hafta find an obd1 alternator, correct? and thats it?

I just did my B16 swap into my 93 Civic DX and I used the stock harness. Its much easier just to keep all the stock clips and everything. All you have to do is wire a line from the VTEC solenoid to the VTEC pin on the ECU and a ground from the VTEC solenoid to the speed sensor. It doesn't necessarily have to be wired to the speed sensor, any ground location is good. Good luck

EDIT: Nevermind, OBDI to OBDII FTL
