Default fuel pressure drop with aftermarket regulator when key off?

as topic suggests, as soon as I shut off the car the fuel pressure instantly starts to drop to 0 within a few seconds. with stock shiet it would hold pressure for hours.

curious if it is common for aftermarket rail/ regulator/ lines setup? or is this something to do with the lack of a purge valve/ charcoal canister?

The more I think about it the more I think it is the lack of purge valve/ charcoal canister to seal the tank from uncontrolably venting off the pressure.

which if so, could I put the purge valve back inline to control the venting of the tank to the atmosphere... but obviously leave the charcoal canister gone? or am I just thinking too much about it and the effects of this on the fuel pump?

well it has to be the regulator or something... anyone else having this happen with aeromotive or sx fuel regulators?
