Default 99 accord paint problem

99 accord, darkgreen.

about a year ago, the paint start coming off on the front of roof. first i saw the white/gray primer. it's so obvious coz my car is darkgreen. then the primer come off and expose the black metal. it spreaded so fast that it's about the size of my palm in 4-5 months. then i realized not only the roof, it happens on lots of leading edges of the car, and also the trunk lid.

this actually happen to lots of 99 accord according to the following link, and i did notice that lots of honda around 99 on the street have the same problem

http://www.carcomplaints.com/H...g.sht

i bought some touch up paint and covered it up. however, just after 5-6 month after i did that, i noticed some white primer was exposed around the area that i did the touch up.

any suggestion for that
i really appreciate it!!

i'd say this spring. You sandblast the hell out the car and re paint the car with good paint or if you are on a tight budget take it to Maaco. Cheap is expensive remember. You get what you pay for. I'd save up and buy good paint and get it done. It could be a fun project to do with you and a buddy.

well, i bought the OEM paint from Honda dealer, actually.

but the problem is it keep spreading. The area that i did the touch up paint is fine, but the paint damage show up around the area i did the touch up.

it happens on the roof, trunk lid. you know, the body work is so expensive that it could take me about $800 for the repair in a body shop.

I just want to find a way to stop it from spread further.

I've never heard of this on the '99s, and your link is bad. (I have a '99 which has perfectly fine paint).

The short answer is to start waxing your car three or four times a year. It won't help the part that's already gone, but it is better than doing nothing.
