Default anyone back with the prelude?

what i mean by this is while looking in the market for a another used car.

after owning an 08 camry and a 01 corolla i am really ready to go back to a 5-6 speed sports coupe but i can't think of anything that's as good of a deal as a 1993 prelude vtec (yes bb1, 167k marvelous condition) for 3k. as much as i want something new, like a tsx, or an s2000, or nsx, i cannot justify spending so much of my income towards payments on a new s2000 or throwing my entire life savings away for a 10 year old nsx.

all the new basic sedans and coupes these days seem to lack character as well. and it costs so much just to have power windows and power door locks to be part of the package.

i sold my 92 Si two years ago but i am getting the feeling it will be time for round 2, except this time with 190hp of stock fury

I went from a 92 Si 4WS to a 98 SH. There just isn't a better daily driver at this price point.

I am looking for a BB1 also. I have one, but the previous owner didn't tell me the front end was jacked up. I never got to drive it and it is sitting in my backyard waiting for me to scrounge parts off of it for another lude that needs saving.

RSX-S used for around 13-15K lighter, faster ,and more refined than either the 4th or 5th gen ludes

idk where you live but ive been told from a few people that were going to buy them around me that insurance was very high. The lude is also much cheaper. You say the rsx is faster, thats a debate of its own, either way its close. If your looking to go fast you could buy a prelude and drop the difference into it and be faster. But theres a million ways to look at it.

How is the theft on rsx's ?

The main reason I won't buy an RSX is because of the ridiculously horrible suspension design, front and back.

I went from a 92 lude to a 06 GTI and regreted it ever since. Once the lease is up I will be purchasing a 4th gen lude again. Loved that car.

Yep insurance rate is high.(one of the top 10 in the country) Pros and cons to everything I guess. As for the RSX being faster well it's lighter, has the same amount of HP and better gear ratios. As for price well the guy was talking about TSx's NSX's and S2k's. The RSX is cheaper. Of course mods make a diffrence but I'm not saying the RSx is better just another alternative in the Honda world.

true. but many innovative tuners have designed suspension peices to overcome these flaws...

I am in the same boat as the OP. I used to own a 93 bb1 srv for the past 3 years until i was t-boned and lost my car I decided to pay off 5k in debt from mods and other personal expenses once i got my 10k payout. With 2k i bought a civic and the other 3k i spent on tuition and clothing. I regret it already. In 4 months i am buying another 4th gen. I can't handle not having one.

I'm currently looking to get back into one as well. My wife had a 2001, love the car, but couldn't enjoy it long enough, now all I can do is try to find another one in decent condition...

lol aftermarket support is not huge, community support however is huge

after i sold my first prelude it was actually hard to see her go, then 2 days later i picked up another bb6 that needed some lovin, this one however, is a bit fiestier and has an attitude.. just waiting to get a hondata setup to tame her.

get a lude, anything else near it's price is bad in comparison
