The guy who I purchased the car from claimed the tranny was type r. The tranny case is stamped s80 and from my research i now understand ls,gsr, and type r have s80 stamped trannies.
My question is wat trannie do I have? I raced my boy who has a b16a2 with an LS tranny and headers. I cut my gears alot quicker then he did and I could EASILY pulled him further in 4th gear.

I also heard their was a way to determine the transmission by a certain rpm and speed.

and no i havent gotten a chance to test for LSD

the tranny was LSD more then likely it would be stamped with the LSD stamp. ls, gsr, and type r are all different trannys and all have different gears so there is no way s80 is for all 3 trannys.
