Which class?
I have a 93 integra gsr with the 1.7L. I would like to build this car for the honda challenge, but I am unsure which class it belongs in. Any help would be great. Thanks
Strangely enough your car isn't classed anywhere. I would imagine that if you built it you could get it into H1-H3 depending on weight and mods. The full rules are here:

if i'm understanding your post right.....
1. you clearly did not read the rules. if your worried about returning to stock, h2/h3 would be the better choices
2. if your worried about returning the car to any 'near stock' configuration, road racing IS NOT for you.
if your saying it would be hard for you to return the car to an h2/h3 set-up
be ready to get killed in h1 with a 1.7
what is your currant set-up?

Well here is the deal I built my car while auto crossing with no thought of road racing. The things I am talking about returning to stock- I relocated the battery to inside my hatch with a optima. Rules state that battery must be in factory location and size. crane cams ignition. Must use oem igniton. aebs intake manifold and throttle body. Can only use oem or Blox manifold and throttle body bore must not exceed 62mm.
Other than those things I don't worry about most other modifications. Money is not really a big deal because I plan finishing building the car over the next year and half.
I plan on moving to the northwest were they only have h1 and h4 I believe. Its not really a big deal if I don't win any events I just want more than autocrossing.
Correct me if I am mis reading the rules, These are things I believe would not be legal.

nope, your pritty much on.
then it realy is up to you on what you want to do. currantly it would go to h1 and id have to look into the IM and TB rules.
why not pull the 1.7 and put an ls in and run in h4?

If your moving to the North west and you plan on racing 1.5 years from now, I'd say don't worry about the "specific" engine rules until your about ready to race.
Sounds to me like you have a whole lotta stuff ahead of that particular problem.
Requesting to have a car classed is really not a big deal.
It would only be classed in H1-H3, and because the NW only has H1/H4, well, you have your options.
Run H1 with what ya got (minus the IM/TB), or put in an LS and go H4 racing.

I don't really want to pull the 1.7, I don't mind switching out the im and tb. I really didn't want to change the ignition or battery. Plus I swapped my from brakes with legend calipers and rotors and I'm not sure If I have to change them back or not.
The IM is not legal in any class. Your brakes are fine for H2 and H1 though. I'm assuming this car is not caged or anything. If that's the case, and relocating a battery to the stock location is too much of a proposition for you, building a racecar is probably a bad idea.
When you're talking about "more than autox" do you mean racing wheel-to-wheel, or HPDEing? For HPDE none of your concerns matter, just FYI.

I do understand that I have to purchased a new intake manifold and throttle body. If I have to change out the ignition, then putting the battery back in the original location isn't a big deal. I just to want to spend money on things that I don't have to spend it on or redo things that I have already changed. I am planning on having the cage put in around the end of the april. I glad I don't have to change the brakes and I thought if the car is classified H1 modified, then the battery relocated is okay as well. Correct me if I am wrong.Yes I mean wheel to wheel racing, I will be starting out with as many hpde I can go to in the next year or two.
Thanks to everyone for helping me out.

true.
more then likely h3

Battery must remain in stock location for H5-H3.
If you get a chance you should meet up with some of the local Honda Challenge drivers at an event and see what they are running. Although you say you don't want to pull your motor right now once you see how much fun they are having in H4 you may change your mind. H4 has some very quick cars and some really intense racing. It doesn't matter that you're going at H1 speeds, you're racing four or more drivers who are also going the same speed. It's a lot of fun.
