alright guys so i live in wisconsin which for the past few weeks has been really cold like 5 or below and i was driving down the road and getting on the freeway and all of a sudden i heard a weird noise kinda like something was popping or something and then about 100 or 200 feet down the ramp i heard the same noise but MUCH louder. then i didnt hear it at all until i was going back on to the freeway to go home and the freeway curved to the right for at least 500 feet and i heard the noise again and it was decently loud. i tried taking a few turns real tight /fast and i couldnt hear the noise at all and i just heard the noise today turning left from a stop sign. i have absolutly no clue what it is since i dont know much about suspension but im guessing its a strut? let me know what you guys think cause if its something really bad i want to replace it asap. thanks for all the help in advanced
Your description is so vague that it could be any number of things. My guess is that you may have a broken coil spring, a bushing that is binding (possibly a sway bar bushing), or perhaps a spring is just shifting or binding due to the cold.
It would probably be a good idea to pay someone who knows what they're looking at to check out your suspension. A general safety check will involve checking ball joints, bushings, springs and dampers, and wheel bearings with both a road test and inspection on a lift.
