turn wheel and spring moves? Stock suspension
I have a 2003 rsx, and I just re-installed the stock suspension and I am hearing a clicking kind of noise when I turn the wheel, so I looked at the suspension while someone turned the wheel and the spring is moving at the top of the suspension (in the top mount boot). So what is the issue with this. The top bolt is tight that is on the strut.
Well, the sound is comming from the spring moving. I don't think I have ever seen the spring move before. Such as when I go to turn the wheel the spring like slips in the rubber boot. It's like it isn't compressed tight enough, but it is as tight as it gets.
So are you saying put some wd-40 or something similar on there to stop that noise? I would do a good grease, but I do not want to take the entire thing off again.

I'm not familiar with this car in particular, but most Mac struts employ a strut bearing which allows the spring to spin in sinc with steering/SAI. If this bearing is worn, it will begin to make noise.
If you have a lot of miles on this bearing, you should replace both sides.

there is not a bearing. He must not be thinking of the right thing then. You have the top mount which has a rubber boot in it and then the spring which rests on the strut assembly. I only have 46k on the car.
