Default How to tune an auto?

I have a customer that is looking to do some cams on his LX and I'm wondering what the best way to tune would be. I looked into Hondata, but it's only for manuals. Right now he has header, full exhaust, intake, and a manifold swap.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just get a chipped ecu, or chip the one you have and use crome or uber.

Finding one, maybe not. Chip it yourself or send it off to be done. VAFC's are only really for fine tuning also, you wont touch what a tuning program can do with a hack setup.

I really dont see why not, i chipped a auto p28 i had laying around, other people do it all the time. We also convert it to a manual at the same time, but if you left it auto i dont see why it wouldnt work.
*edit* all your doing is changing the ign/fuel maps (and a few others thing) but the only issue you would run into it trying to do a rev limiter or something, but you dont even have to use it.

thats actually good news if you are right, I wonder if the tuning software will have any problems with it... If not, project H22 turbo Auto del sol for the girlfriend is back on track!

I think it can be done. It'll just be a little harder for the tuner to do it like a manual, starting at a low rpm in 3rd, lol.

Sorry CAM, not cams. I'm used to working on Mercedes. Yes it is a lot more work then its worth, but its not my car or my money, and I'm not one to kock someone else's dreams down.

Any links for the VAFC?

They're all over ebay, i dont know how many vafc's are still around but the they're still plenty of vafc2's (vafc-II). I think the neo may have actually taken its place?
