Default Most ghetto mod or repair , part ???

ok so I'm sure this has been done before but I'm bored, so lets hear it , whats the most ghetto thing you've ever done as either a repair or a mod? I'll start off whit this one to set the bar

my muffler was recently ripped off while going over a speed bump, and I was about 300 miles from home, with limited cash , so I was lucky enough to have two circle clamps in the trunk , went to a corner store and bought a can of soup, poured out it , (you can see where this is going) slid the can over the pipe , the muffler pipe into the can, and clamped it down tight, got me home at least! :-D

A lot of zipties...no story in particular, but many small instances combined into one large ziptie fest

Now thats pimp But what i want to know is how you got the can open on both sides? They let you borrow a can opener?

And about zipties..... if you dont have zipties, and ducktape in your tool box you are not a real mechanic

Most ghetto thing i did..... hm... Ive used electrical wire as a cotter pin before. Long time ago i used a coat hanger as a muffler hanger

Repair: was on an old Impreza wagon, had a full exhaust system and the high flow cat material came loose. System was custom and welded, all one piece. Pulled it in my driveway and used a coathanger, center punch, and a hammer to break apart the catalyst through the O2 sensor bung, then had to shake the material down the length of the system, since I couldn't separate it. Got a good workout in the process though...ish was heavy!

Mod: had a cheapo bass speaker box that I spliced into the rear speaker wires to get a little extra punch, but it was cool cause I could take it out of the car and play tunes outside pretty nice- also in the same wagon.

about the speaker thing , had a buddy who rolled around with two house speakers in his backseat wired to his rear speakers. HUGE sony speakers off an old stereo that was long gone. was hilarious, if he hit the breaks too hard he had to re-adjust the speakers on his backseat....

lol, same here. when I would rally in the mountains that thing just slid all over the cargo area and usually ended up coming unplugged.

um, on the side of the highway on the way home from canada i ended up needing more coolant, i had no idea if it would work but i went potty in the radiator of my crx on the side of 81

i have no idea if that added along with the bottle of water i had made any difference, but i was able to make it home...

maybe not ghetto, but i did feel pretty dirty over the whole thing.

I've heard that "peeing in the radiator" trick before, would suck to have to do that on the side of the freeway. By the time you're empty, probably 50+ cars have passed by and you know at least one of them has a camera/video camera.

I've also heard of people using various drinks to fill the radiator. Picture someone pouring beer into their motor. Now that's alcohol abuse.
