Default Where in hell can I buy a tilt sensor!? Is radar enough? What do I hook up in optional sensor?

I've been searching in Google for the past hour and a half and I can't find an online store that sells tilt sensors. I'm going to set up my alarm with a 2 zone proximity sensor, will it work if someone tried to steal my wheels (assuming the person found out the radar sensor). Also I have an input for an optional sensor, any recommendations? (I have one 2zone shock sensor, one 2zone proximity senor, regular door/hood/trunk. Thanks in advance.

I might be wrong but a isn't a tilt sensor the same as a mercury sensor. It should be a glass tube with mercury in it so that when the car tilts it will make contact with the connections.

It will not prevent them from stealing your wills but if they try to lift your car it should set off the alarm.

I you are really paranoid about your wheels use multiple wheel locks and don't leave the key in your car.

You should be able to buy it at BestBuy, Circuit City, or CarToys

I know this may sound ghetto but it might be what you are looking for. I can relate with your paranoia

Anyway there is a sytem called the driveway alert patrol.
** can be bought at Linen&Things or Bed,Bath,&Beyond

It consists of a infrared motion sensor and signal receiving unit that chimes.
The system is wireless.

The motion sensor uses a 9V battery.
The signal receiving unit requires 3C batteries.

What i do is put the motion sensor in front of my cluster facing the driver seat. So that when an intruder enters my vehicle it will send a signal to the chimer and notify me but does not make a noise in my car.

The chimer is loud as hell or can be set to light chime.

I dunno if it will work for you but for $20 it makes sleep better at night.

That sounds very interesting, would you please provide the manufacturer of that device, and a model # if there is one? I've never heard of those stores around here, but would really love to have one or two of those things!?

no the proximity sensor won't protect your wheels because proximity sensors go through glass not metal and most likely they'll be kneeling down by your wheels and fenders (metal) so it wont go off.. if your shock sensor is sensitive when they take off the lugs or slip the wheel off (which is too late already) it might set off the shock sensor... just go to a car audio/alarm shop and ask to buy a tilt sensor... any decent car stereo/alarm shop should either carry them or be able to order them...

$59 dollars U.S http://www.autotoys.com completly digital and auto-leveling...excellent stuf

can't use a mercury switch because you have to include circuitry to "zero" the sensor depending on your incline. This would require you to have an array of switches aligned at different angles and a circuit to automatically bypass those that are in making contact when the system is armed, and when any of the other switches make a contact, the alarm should go off.

No need to do anything with the one recommended above...completly digital.
