the way to tell is to look at the last 2 characters printed on the tag of the ecu. For an example, i have a ecu that says PM6-L09. you want to look at the L09 portion. If the last 2 digits of that set of characters is 50 or greater, than the ecu is automatic. I believe an automatic pm6 will say something like PM6-A52. It is the same for the OBD1 p28 for sure. obd2 i believe also follows that standard, but i am not 100% sure on that. the first letter of the last 3 values doesnt have anything to do with it, as far as i know. good luck..

go to http://zdyne.com and look in the tech section.
A16 i think is a manual.. only the 2 characters after the A matter. sinec those 2 characters are less than 50, its a manual.
