I know Luis the thread is gone.Hopefully they will add a modified class at least on the east coast.

 

I didn't delete that one, but I can say I'm glad it's gone. I just don't understand why some people on here insist on turning those types of threads into pissing matches? I swear sometimes I think people on here act like they are 10 years old.

There was no reason whatsoever that, that thread needed to go in the direction that it did. I think the people who started to take some of the comments in there too personally need to really step back and have a good look at why they were even in there. There were basically 3 people who trashed the last thread, and I will warn all 3 of them here and now,if you're seen posting in this thread with a negative comment, you will be banned and not return.

I'm tired of this. I've been involved in both sides of "Sport Compact" racing for the last 15 years, and people like you don't do 1 good thing for this sport, all you want to do is complain that the other guy gets it good and you get screwed. Give it a rest.

Dee, you're right to a point, but unfortunately $$ is $$ and if a sanctioning body doesn't have the $$ to have a class, that's about it. I love the fact that you're as professional and business like as you are, because I'm sure for Frank it makes it easier to talk and deal with you. How about helping find a sponsor?? Maybe with the fact that you are as involved in the modified you might have a better idea as to who to approach for a class sponsor for BOTI. Not trying to knock, or be aggressive, but maybe you can help them out.

To the rest of you, just stop acting like kids. Before you post something nasty, rude, or mean think! Ask yourself if you'd say it publicly, face to face, and then decide if it really is worth getting so worked up over. Some people in the sport compact racing community really do, do this for a living, and sponsors do read this forum and they do think that you guys represent the industry as a whole, and don't want to help for fear of being associated with a bunch of whiny crybabies.

Please do all of us a favor, and think about the greater good of the group rather than the gratification you might get for 1 or 2 minutes knowing that you "one-upped" the other guy.

Hey Clayton, I meant no disrespect by reviving the thread.

But there were a few things that I personally had to say. Not to mention that dialogue is an important part of resolution.

What people need to realize is that this is not and has never been an east against west thing. Maybe in rap but not here.

This is not about where "Import Racing" began. And notice that I say "Import" and not sport compact. Sport compact began a few years ago by the NHRA. "Import" well import racing has been around since before some of the members of this forum were a hard on in a bar.

This is about a greater thing, the deletion of a class.

Can you imagine if this had happened to PRO FWD??? HOT ROD??? All motor??? or dare I even say Sport FWD???

This would of been a national disaster!!! Cats & Dogs living together!!!

I never believed in conspiracy theories but you mean to tell me that they deleted Modified. For 2007 This class maintained a 4 car minimum at almost all the events and had 14 cars trying to get in at E-Town. But yet Hot Rod that had only 2 cars all season is thought of first???

I understand that no modified cars ever showed up at BOTI but is it maybe because we were never welcomed to begin with? I know Dee and I called about attending BOTI at MIR in 2007 and we were told sorry no class.

As a business person, why would you go into 3 cities with out a specific class, where you know that 70% of the cars attending fit that class??? Hmmmmm

That what the fools dont understand. Some on here are to bias to see the greater good. we the racers have the power but only if we stay together. If Battle had canceled the SPFW class. frank would be sleeping on the streets after someone start a wild fire on his lawn.

So with that said, do you think it would be fair to you, all the people that have helped you and your sponsors for you class to be removed???

Ryan isnt saying he wouldnt care if they got rid of hot rod...He is simply saying that BOTI never had Modified so its not like they are taking the class away from you guys.They just arent adding it.NOPI/NHRA still has Modified just like last year.You guys make it sound like they had the class last year and on the off season you spent all this time and money on your cars to run the class and then they get rid of it.That would be a different story but thats not the case here.I think the way BOTI feels about it is that they have good turnouts now with their events so why change too much

 

well in recent years BOTI was pretty much a sportsman series. No "PROs" followed the series like they did pre-NHRASC & NOPI. Back in the day the cars that fit into what we called "MODIFIED" raced the what is now "PRO FWD" type cars. So by their not having a class for the MODIFIED cars is a slap in the face. They had it in the past. There never was a PRO FWD class in BOTI...they only had a "hot rod" type class for fast FWD cars. Hopefully the powers that be and the racers can work something out so that they can race at selected events or all events. I really like to see those cars race. Let them run with the PRO FWD...they run about the same times anyways....Rau vs Rado, Efantis vs. Bergonholtz Dee K. vs. Hunt....

 

PRO FWD VS MODIFIED WOULD BE BAD ***. SOME GOOD RACING, MABY EVEN A 16 CAR FIELD.I LIKE THE SOUND OF THAT
