ok, so my car has an idle of 1,200-1,400 and usually has an idle of 800. whats goin on? well also, its not even a constant idle. sometimes, it will go from 1,000 down to 500, back to 1,000. its not constant, but its low tho. i jst noticed this earlier today. also, my fuel meter keeps fluctuating? is all of this connected together? and my check engine light is staying on. can someone help me!!!!???

what codes are is your car throwing out? have you tried adjusting your idle?

 

First, pull the code.

Check for vacuum leaks. Also, your IACV or fast idle valve might be malfunctioning.

 

ohh ok, well ive never done that before, so is it easy to do this? i know that theres a thread on how to pull the code, so i guess ima look at that when im doing it. how will i know what to look for?

 

ok, so i dont know how to even check for what it is i need to find. i dont know what codes my car is throwing out, and i dont know how to find them. went to the cel thread. and i saw it. really, if someone can explain to me how i can look for the codes my car is throwing out so i can at least know whats going on with my car. also, i dont know how to adjust my idle valve sensor, so can someone give me the low on how to do all this stuff and explain to me?

 

it's up underneath your glovebox hommie. if you can spare $20, get a haynes manual, it will tell you how, and what the codes are. is your iac valve clean. your map sensor good? i wouldn't play with the idle control just yet, not til you find out what the codes are.
