Default tranny

OK guys I need to know how in the world i find out what kind of tranny I have..i have a 04 civic si..i know they come stock with the 5 speed...well I have a 6 speed and thats how it was when I bought it..I dont know if maybe its the rsx-s tranny...or the type-r tranny...and I believe the 06 came with a 6 speed? correct me if im wrong..but i would just really like to know so when I have to buy axles i get the right ones..I cant get ahold of the guy that had the car before me...he traded it in at the stealership and they knew nothing about it they thought it came like that stock...any help is appreciated thanks

look for a vin on the tranny maybe or some kind of code stamped on it?

I looked and i never did see anything..im gonna try and get under there tomorrow and see if there is any kind of code on the bottom
