Default engine sputter problem and rpm, need help!!!

I guess i will start from when i start the car. It turns on fine and runs fine for like 15seconds, then the rpm's start to jump up and down. And yes it stays that way for a longtime. When and if it stops jumping it has a high idle, about 1500rpm. Then I have another problem which when i start driving the car will sputter at cruising speeds and then goes away when i step on the gas. Forgot to mention that the sputtering hapeens from time to time not all the time. Now i have come to the conclusion that it could be the fuel system to both of my problems. I would like any suggestions and I will look at the car once it stops raining.

i've been having that same problem.

start with the simple things like spark plugs, injectors, then more onto things like fuel pump ect.

I GOT A `1998 ACCORD V6 and wen ii started my car and i let it run for like 1 min to heat up it gave me a kick bak i replaced my motor mount the issue is fixed but now my check engine light wen on ..

ive noticed that when im drivin like at 30mph my rpms go to 5000 or 6000 and it will go right back to 1500 i went to a honda dealer they told me its tranny related...so im guessing ur issue is tranny related too bec the same thing is happenin to my car...is it auto or manual bec mines in auto and they sed its my GEAR RATIOS its messed up....u can either replace the tranny or get it rebuilt but if u go to the dealer they will charge u like 2k i found a place that charged me onli 1000k to rebuild it build it im still savin up though

i actually got new sparks plugs waiting to go in 1.) need a longer 3/8ths extension 2.) wait for the rain to go away. I just remembered that i was talking to my cousin about my sputtering problem and it could be my TPS.

oops i forgot to mention that my car is manual. I know enough about manual transmission that if it was the tranny i would know already. With my old Integra i went through 3 clutches and 2 trannys in less than 3-4 months.

well i fixed my rpm jumping problem but I still got the sputtering problem. I've been doing research on here about sputtering or bogging problems. All I got is look at the knock sensor or it could be my O2 sensor but they were all mostly related to CEL and I only get that once in awhile. Oh and once the CEL does come on I don't have my sputtering problem anymore.
