Hello. I have a boosted y7 in my '88 hatch. I was using a cable L3 Si trans until the diff pin broke a few weeks ago. A buddy of mine is going to sell me a dohc zc trans for $100.
Before I buy this trans I have a few questions. I plan on first putting in my Si ring gear and countershaft into the zc case. I would also like to upgrade to a obx lsd. Obx does not make a specific lsd for the cable zc transmission. This trans does not have the intermediate shaft and those are about impossible to find these days. So I have read about people using the zc internals within the Si case. Can I do this with the zc case?
I would love to buy a obx lsd meant for the Si cable trans and put that into the zc case so I can use the short/long axles. I've heard the bearing/axle seal sizes are different. Would I be able to swap those zc bearings/seals over to the sohc obx lsd?
Thanks for any advice
