Changing a side mirror.
RIght in my own driveway someone broke off my right side view mirror. It's a 1997 Honda Accord DX. Just wondering what the average price of these things are and if anyone knows this is something I could get in the junkyard?
Be sure to call or stop by the dealer first, just to get a price. That way, when you are looking at used parts, you will know whether or not it is really a deal.
For what it's worth, MSRP for a '99 side mirror is about $196, though this mirror is power and bends. I've replaced both of mine over the years...

Fast job, or kind of a pain?

Keep in mind that this is for the '99...
a. Remove the door panel (it has to come off because you need to plug the mirror onto a clip behind it).
b. Pop off the triangular piece of trim on the inside part of the window (opposite of the mirror).
c. Undo three bolts and unplug the mirror from the clip. The old mirror is then off, just do the reverse to put the new mirror on.
Taking the door panel off can be a pain, but other than that it's an easy job. Just be sure to put the window up and down a couple times after you put the triangular piece of trim back on to make sure you didn't pinch the rubber seal.
