Just bought a 93 cx hatch and everything works fine EXCEPT the speedometer and was wondering what might be wrong. i havent taken the time to take a look yet (just got it literally yesterday night) so can anyone help me or give me some things to look for???

Do you have any CEL's?

(I'm trying to see if you have a bad sending unit.)

 

First, I would check the VSS connector for corrosion. I've seen it a few times with cars that are driven in the snow and exposed to road salt.

My 92 CX had this problem and did not set of a CEL.
