Default Need tire size suggestion....Quick!

Ok guys I have a 97 civic hatch I use for everyday driving and tonight was too scary driving on the freeway with the rainy conditions here in socal. My current setup is rota subzeros in 16" and I have toyo proxes in the back and one in the front, the other front is a Yokohama parada. I bought the wheel/tire set like this last summer to replace my stock oem steelies. Come to find out, the parada sucks in the rain and hydroplanes very easily. My car was all over the road and the parada like to follow the lines on our crappy freeways out here. The current sizes are 205-40-16 and I have been thinking of getting a little more tire and going with a 205-45-16 setup and getting rid of that parada as sson as possible. I dont care much for performance since this is my commuter, but being able to drive comfortably in rain is my #1 priority right now. Any suggestions/help highly appreciated. Thanks

For your car (with 16" wheels) and your needs, I strongly recommend the Kumho SPT in 205/45-16. It's not very expensive ($82/tire at the Tire Rack), performs well on dry pavement, is outstanding in rain, and lasts a reasonably long time. Great tire.

BTW, stickied at the top of this forum, where you'd have to be absolutely clueless to miss it, is a topic:

What size tires should I get?

The proper size depends on your car, not just the wheels you are using. So if you want to ask what size you should get, let us know what kind of car you have (year, model, body style, version)!

For a CRX, del sol, or pre-'96 Civic, the following sizes are usually best:

13" - 175/70-13
14" - 185/60-14, 195/55-14
15" - 195/50-15
16" - 205/40-16, 195/45-16

I read that however I have aftermarket wheels and I was also looking for advice on tires for my particular situation. Thanks though.
