Default Help Need Your Input Potential Starter Problem I think

Let me start off by saying I am stupid as hell. Lastnight I adjusted the head lights on the crx and took off to some friedns house in the rain. Well this afternoon I noticed that the hood wasn't closed all the way. Didn't think much of it until tonight. I went out to start the car so it could warm up. Well turned the key nothing just a clicking from under the hood. Checked the battery to make sure I had a good connection everything was good there. Turned on the headlights they came on fine. Started checking fuses. Let me stop here and say I am by no means a mechanic. Then checked the wires on the starter everything is hooked up good. So now I am lost. Do you guys think that riding with hood not latched all the way down some water got on or around the starter and casued it to go out. I just want to make sure I am heading in the right direction. In the morning I am going to get my step dad to come out there with me and see if I can jump the connections and see if I can get it to tuen over that way. If nothing else pull the starter and bring it auto zone and get them to test it. Is there anything else that I should be looking for or other things that could have gotten screwed up. I have only had the car for about 3 weeks now and haven't had any problems with the starter I know that doesn't neccesarly mean anything. Also I can hear the fuel pump kick on and all the lights on the dash are coming on when I turn the key. Any input from you guys would be thankful. And yes I did a search I would like to make sure I am not missing something.

Well I got it figured out. I jumped the connections on the starter and it clicked about 5 times then the starter started turning over. Hooked the remote wite back up turned the key and it started. Figured I would post incase there is someone who may come across the same problem.
